Ready to pull the trigger on a pipe. I run D&D on my FXR. Prefer the D&D. Haven't broken one yet.
However, I'm after something a little more mellow sounding, if not quieter. And some great deal can be had on ProPipes, so, this time, I am leaning that way. Not a max power, build or anything, though 107ci is in the plans.
This bike is bike I going to be a little mellower overall. I am going to toss some bags on pit at some point, I like the leather pro mounting, so, I am leaning that way. But, I don't want to lock myself into any one direction, so if there is anything that won't work together, I would like to know.
Thanks,
Chase

While my bike is a Deuce, I thought that I'd show you this picture of bags mounted on EZ Brackets. Maybe it will help?
As you can see, the bags are mounted pretty low on the bracket and I still have plenty of room above the ProPipe. The picture
makes it look like the straps are touching, but they're at least 5" away from the pipe.
I have a pro pipe and leather pros bags on my fat bob. The progressive rear shocks lowered the rear a little bit and there is still about a 2 inch gap between the bag and pipe.
Fatty, excellent. Those are THE bags I'm looking into. I won't got lower with mine though, if anything, I may go UP a little...
Are they as stable as they make them out to be? I would need them to work with a removable sissy bar....
Thanks,
Chase
Not shown in the picture, but I also have detacheable HD rack and sissy bar with the leatherpros trunk bag on it. The Leather Pros provided hardware includes longer bolts to allow both the detacheable rack and saddlebags to be mounted. The bags are super easy to attach/detach and are rock-solid stable when attached. I think leather pros may have changed the mounting system a little from when I bought mine, but I'm sure they are just as good if not better. You will not be dissapointed.
I got a very good price on the bags (with all H/W and locks) from tri-county HD in Fairfield OH back in march 2011 ($595 shipped to Colorado). Give them a call before you buy and see what they can do. (513) 874-4343.
I also purchased the trunk (with locks) from them as well for $340 shipped.
If you call them, see if Rebecca still works there and see if they are still giving a %20 discount.
