Default primary overfill?

Just changed all my fluids in the Bob and am wondering if i overfilled the primary...it took the full 32 oz. and the oil came right up to the little lip at the bottom of the primary cover hole. The bike was close to upright. I have read here that the oil level in the primary is a little more forgiving than the crankcase or tranny...should i drain a little or am i worrying about nothing. Have put 30 miles on it since and it seems fine.Also...anyone installing the rigid sideplates for a sissy bar be careful of the wires...found out at 11:30 at night that i had no left turn signal and my alarm light was on...i had accidentally stripped some insulation off the wires when reinstaaling the long bolt from the turn signal assembly and the wires were shorting together.Nothing a little electrical tape couldn't fix...

Usally if you overfill the Primary, the clutch will act up. Sounds like it is ok.

I have a '04 FXD and a '06 FXDCI and both take 32 ounces. You did a good job.

What they said.......... No worries if your bike shifts okay, and you are not experiencing problems finding nuetral.

Ditto the one quart with no problems here as well. For what it's worth, I've put in three quarts of engine oil on a change now and again.

Mine usually take about 28 ounces... I'm sure a full quart is fine. The first time I do a 'wet change' on a new bike, I pour the contents of the drain pan into an empty oil container and measure what came out of the case.

FWIW, I always change my bike hot. Then sit on it with the drain plug out and move it from side to side and in each case a little more oil does come out. Try it.
