Default derby gasket

Hey guys do you think that the new disc style gasket (well its new in UK) used on early dynaglides is as good as old o ring that fitted in a groove. I can't get old gasket any more and the disc gasket weeps oil.can you use both gaskets together? Thanx guys.

I had to revert to the disc style gasket when I installed an aftermarket derby cover. Can't believe I paid $14.99 for one - the o-ring style to me is a no brainer. I would use one or the other, might not seal correctly if you use both.

if your derby cover has a groove use the O ring, not both. If your disk gasket is in good shape and you follow the proper torque sequence you shouldn't have any problems

Never had to replace my disc gasket in over 100k. Never leaked. Both are good gaskets.

I never replaced my o-ring gasket on the bike I traded, and I had it for 12K miles.

Why don't you just buy some o ring gaskets online?

Try using some Hylomar gasket sealant on it. It's non hardening and from my experience it works very well. It's also a British invention, so you should be able to get it locally.

Genuine James Gaskets are the best. Reuseable many times

eBay seller eccpa sells them for $7.20 shipped. PN 25416-99c
During riding season I'd pay 20.00 to avoid a wait lol
