Default Change front springs on 07 Bob??

Hi All -
I have a question about whether to change my front springs on an 07 Street Bob or not. I'm putting on a set of rear Progressive heavy duty 11" shocks and also removing my front fork sliders to get them powder coated and will be installing an SE front fork brace (all on order). Any advantage to change out my front springs? If so, should I be looking at Progressive's standard springs or their lower front spring kit? Why?

Thanks in advance for any advice/recommendations.

I am currently in mid-mod-mode I went with chrome sliders so I took the opportunity to put in the Progressive springs. I am also putting 440s on the rear, lowered 1 in. I bought the stock length and if I want to lower it later (I am looking to go to a 21 in wheel on the front later this year) I can take out the PVC spacer-thingy (tech term) put it on a chop saw and bring it down as much as I want. I have ridden bkes with Progressives (similar setup) and find the ride superior especially n the twisties.

Thanks for the advice Geronimo, that sounded like a good strategy, so I just ordered a set of Progessive standard front springs for my Bobstah on-line. I'll see how I like it and then modify the height if needed, as you suggested.

The stock '07 Dyna front fork is made by Showa. It's the same fork used on the V-Rod. It already has a progressive spring in there.

The spacer at the top of the spring does not set ride height. It sets spring pre load. To lower the front fork significantly, you need to put a spacer deep down in the bowels of the fork. If you only want to drop it 1/2-3/4", you can loosen the pinch bolts and move the fork tube up in the triple trees.

There's only one thing that you can buy for less than $300 that will significantly improve your ride. Gold valves from Race Tech.

Chipstah,
Take it from a guy who did it on his Bob, DON"T DO IT, your ride will significantly change. I did the Progressive 11 inches on the rear and that was fine, a little bumpy at times, but the ride was still nice. I then lowered the front by just sliding up the forks a little, still a very nice ride and the profile of the bike looked great. Then I lowered the front by installing lowering springs from Progressive. I think the guy that installed it didn't know what he was doing, but the bike was way too low and it rode like sh*t! Even if he did know what he was doing, it was dangerously low. I didn't feel confident on the road anymore, worried about every little bump, especially on the freeway. It did look great though lowered!
