Bought a fork brace on eBay...49mm fits Dyna and Vrod. I go to bolt it up and there is no way the piece will fit straight across without hitting the fender. It doesn't line up as low as it's supposed to.
Is there some trick that I'm overlooking? Bike is straight up as instructed. Here's a link to what I got:
If you look at my sig pic, it appears that my fender just about lines up with the top of my fork lowers
In this below picture of someone else's bike, they seem to run much higher up and the fork brace has a big gap between the fender and the brace itself.

That is a pic of the 39mm narrowglide above NOT the 49mm you are inquiring about.
Take some pics of your fitment issues. Maybe you could slot your fender mounts to lower the fender some closer to your tire, allowing the needed clearance for the brace you bought.
You have to put it on loosly and pump the forks up and down and then keep tightening it up evenly and all of a sudden it will kinda snap into place and fit together.
You got Vrod sliders on that dyna frontend...yes? I think your problem is that the fork brace is for a Vrod and a dyna, but not Vrod sliders with a dyna fender. I think those vrod sliders are shorter than the dynas. The difference in dimensions is above the fender mount. So that's why your dyna fender sits higher in relation to the top of those Vrod sliders. Take a look at any good photos of Vrods and dynas, look at those fender mounting bosses in relation to the top of slider, look at the difference in length of the fender mounting brackets...you'll see the difference. Do you still have your old dyna sliders?...compare.
God damnit you're right ....totally forgot I swapped em when I did the dual disk. I'll toy with it and see if I can bring the fender any lower, otherwise, no brace =(
