Just ordered up a 21x3.25 for my 07 SB. I've heard I can use my hub and spokes off my 19" to lace the jireh 21 up. To anyone who's done this, any tips?! What size tire are u running with it? I'd like to keep my stock fender on w/o modding it too much. Thanks
You can fit a 120 under the stock fender. You might have to loosen the fender and wiggle it around a bit for it to have the gap right to the tire, no biggie though.
It is a special lacing pattern too. The standard lacing pattern will not work right.
So with using the stock hub I shouldn't have any spacer issues eh?
I assume you mean tire to fender clearance.
You probably won't have an issue. Make sure whoever trues the wheel centers the rim on the hub. If you do have a clearance issue with the 120 tire it will be so minor that you can elongate the fender mount bolt holes with a half round file or dremel tool so you can slide the fender up just a fraction for clearance.
I had no issue on the first two tires I mounted but on the third tire had to clearance the boltholes about an eighth. Difference in tires I guess, although they were all the same brand and model of tire.
Yes exactly, I will track down a reputable wheel guy. Thanks a lot for the help, now here's hoping they get the wheel soon. I just got a phone call and was told to check back in a couple weeks! ****
Mach07 I orderd the rim back in October and am still waiting for it. I call them every week and they keep telling me it will be in soon.
Damn eh that doesn't sound too promising! I find it strange you can't put your name down to reserve one either. O well, how bout if you hear anything from them please let me know! And I will do the same. Was hoping to get one PC'ed, built and on before April. May have to wait til next winter!
