Well I got the bars today, these came from Hill Country Custom Cycles. The guy on the phone told me the inside width of the bars was 13.5" but it is actually only 12". So they only have a 3" spread from top to bottom, it's still wide enough so that it will stick out further than the triple trees and the extra diameter will help fill out things too. I'm still disappointed in this but at least they are wider than the Road6 bars. Nevertheless I will install these tomorrow and this will be my final purchase on bars...I wish I wasn't so dang short so I could go with taller apes.

Here is a picture of them, one thing I thought was pretty cool is they come with copper wire ran through the bars to help aid you in pulling your wires through. The packaging was also superb, plastic wrapped with bubble wrap and then pvc insulating foam and each layer was taped up. PITA to get all that stuff off but atleast the bars were protected during shipping!

Nice, good luck with the install. Remember slow is fast. Can't wait to see what the 1 1/4 bonanza's look like on the bike.

I loved my R6C's when I had them, especially the "twitchiness" you mentioned. They made the bike feel much more responsive in tight quarters. I believe that was due to their narrow grip spacing compared to other apes. By contrast, the t-bars I switched to have slightly wider spacing and don't feel as responsive. I'm waiting on a set of custom made bars now that are narrower with less pull back.

All that being said, I think those new bars will look much better than the R6Cs. They ought to flow with your front end a little better. I hope they feel better for you too.

Well I worked on the bars today from about 9am to 6pm, these bars are a pain in the motha fkin azz to run wires through. The copper wiring that comes pre-ran through the bars does not work good at all after several attempts using that I about pulled my hair out and said screw it. I came back to it after a beer and bowl of cereal and decided to pull the wire out and run some parachute cord I have laying around through the bars. Had to get some twain and a lead weight to get a feed through the bars to pull the parachute cord through.

Ok so now I am attempting with this parachute cord and by now I have sliced into the wires from so much back and forth. I determined that with the plug connections on the wires it will be impossible to pull through. I cut the wires and finally got one side!!!!! Now moving on to the other side, I again cut the wires feed parachute cord through but the last corner I could not for the life of me get the wires to pull through. My last attempt I pulled on them hard enough that I thought I would rip em apart but they finally pushed through the tight spot.

Spent some time soldering all the wires back together, heatshrink, PET tubing and more heatshrink. Got the bars mounted and the left side controls don't want to sit flush. I worked on em for awhile and finally got them to look somewhat normal. To top everything off I broke my fuel supply connection, got a new fuel line ($45) from harley and the damn thing leaks at the tank connection.

Went ahead and shortened my turn signal wires while I had everything apart, bars look a ton better than the others did. They fill out the front end really well, still wish they were a bit wider at the top but I can't be to picky.

Sorry for the crap pictures, I'll try to get one tomorrow when the sun comes out.

It looks a lot better than the R6C bars. That 1 1/4 inch bar make those apes look stout!!

As for the left controls take a look at the dimple where the wires go in. You might need to slide the controls a 1/8 out and they should fit nice. I have to really stuff the wires in there to get the controls flush together.

The left controls are clamping down completely, its the clutch assembly that won't clamp down flush. The wires stick out to much, if I push the controls further up the bars to make room for the clutch assembly then it doesn't fit cause it sits on the part where the bars start increasing to 1.25". I'll just have to live with it, it really isn't THAT noticable and it does not affect operation of the controls.

They look a ton better! I was tossing around changing the stock 10" to 12" bars (so those 13s would work too) that look like this and it definitely helps seeing them on. Were the stock wires long enough or did you have to buy longer ones? Now I just have to decide between black like I originally wanted and chrome.

For the bars I got (11") the stock cables work just fine. The 13" shouldn't be a problem, depending on your brake and throttle cables though it may be a tight fit. Measure it out before you buy, I know on my bike 14" bars require those two things to be changed.
