Well there is your problem LOL. Eat more young man , No just kidding we have a gal that rides a superglide not quite as big as you but close and cross wind's and stuff like that can give her the ******* at time. Just not enough *** as the say to hold it down. You will be fine though hell she has 14" apes and looks like a flying squirrel on it and now that she used to it she runs with us fat boy's
Im approaching 3k miles on my 2013superglide custom and so I am now confident to take up to 70-80mph. I noticed at that speed, my bike wobbles a little bit. Is it the way I drive, do I need more low speed riding time? Or is it the wind. I have a windshield attached to the bike. How about using a batwing instead? Anyone experienced this on their superglide?
One thing i could see is if you have spokes wheel, you might just want to check if some of them are not loose !!!!
I had the same kind of problem on mine and the back wheel was moving 1/8" on the rim side-play !!! Can't tell you how much of a pain in the ...wind it was!
Switched to solid mags and scrap those was my solution lolll
On the other side, a batwing makes a good difference also, lot more easy on the arms with the drag
I have the same problem. At 80 m.p.h. my hair starts blowing around and stuff will fly out of my pockets if not secured. I can feel a lot of wind buffeting on loose clothing too. What could be wrong with the bike? This is unacceptable.
Since you mention feeling it with your helmet, it's probably wind buffeting. Some windshields are horrible that way.
But check for looseness in things like spokes and steering head, and then have someone with a similar bike take it for a fast ride and see if they think is feels normal.
I would say take the bike into the HD and have them check it out. I had from the beginning on mine a HD windshield with the quick disconnects and wind buffeting was always a problem. This past Christmas I put the batwing fairing on with the twelve inch windscreen and with the MS lowers and now the wind buffeting is much less.
