When playing with rake and trail, the adjustments must be done properly if you don't want changing the handling of the bike.

OEM FXDWG 2012 specs : 34dg neck - Triple Clamp Offset 2.25" - Fork Length 33" - Triple Tree Rake 2dg. = trail 5.2"

Now if you go with same spec and add a 23" rim your trail should end up in the 4.34" range. Still good but affected handling a bit.
Your best bet would be a 37dg neck-2" trees and 2" over on tube to end up with 5.05" trail.
Anyhow, all this stuff can be calculated on this site : http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/rakeandtrail.html
Cheers

Increasing the rim and tire size increases the trail. Going down to a 19" lowers it to 4.7

fxwoody thanks for the calculator link. In all the threads I've read, when someone posted a link to a calculator they were all dead now.

With that said, thanks for your input. Much appreciated.

According to that website, if I do stock wide glide trees and 3 degree cups, it will put me in Softail trail range. I'm comfortable with that.
