I'm running just the rears. Burly Slammer 10.5" to be exact. I don't have any issues bottoming out in regular conditions. There is the occasional crazy high speed bump to be cautious about, but nothing to be too worried about. It comes down to riding sensibly and within your comfort. I am a cruising style rider too. But I do get on it frequently enough, and never felt as though my lowered ride held me back. I don't notice any drastic loss in performance or poor ride quality with my Burly's. Actually feels better than the OEM shocks FWIW...

I did the opposite of what the op is asking and ran different springs in front and then over a year later added better rears.

No problem on that either, in case the question comes up

And another question - what length are the stock shocks on a 2013 FXDB?

I thought I'd read they are 13" but I measured mine both on and off the bike and they're 12".

Your measurements are correct, stock is 12". The older FXDX had ~13.5" shocks, but I'm pretty sure that was the only Dyna model to go above 12" from the factory.
