What ever you decide, don't skimp out on the tune. That can make all the difference. Be sure that it's part of your budget. My build is similar to Joes...Darkhorse did my lower end and it's virtually bullet proof as is Joes...we ride hard...no problem

everything you mention above.

but, you don't mention *hardest hitting and most bang for the buck*.

if we add that to the equation - HeadQuarters.

before I went to the 121 inch HeadQuarters build, I built a 95 incher.

about 2500 for parts

(bore cylinders to fit their CP pistons, Hi Velocity headwork, and cams)

key to *hardest hitting* is compression.

11 to 1 is the HQ answer there.

Cams are the HQ-TC-600.
Pistons are CP 11:1.
High Velocity porting of stock heads.
etc

Idling it sounded like a hopped up small block Chevrolet on alcohol.

Hitting second gear hard it did one of two things -
spin the tire so hard the inertia at the rear wheel tries to pass me on the left,
or, if it does get a grab, it feels like both wheels come off the ground.
Usually it's the first scenario, and I shift to third as soon as the shift light comes on.

With the rev limiter set at 6500,
this monster is still pulling hard when it does hit 6500,
in every gear.

First three gears, it hits the limiter before you even know it.
That's why I set the shift light at 6000.

Like JRK said, the best kit is the one put together for you. Your riding style, your budget, your goals. You're going to be looking at some mild headwork, 1.900 intake valve. Figure out if you have the money to set the heads up for big cams or want to save and run bolt ins. Compression will depend on cam choice. There's an endless number of shops out there that can help you do this and everyone on here is going to recommend someone and something different. If you're not well educated in piecing together your own motor pick a reputable shop, tell them what you want and let them take the wheel. By reputable I don't mean the guy that works out of his shed in his spare time that your buddy at the bar recommended. Do some research, call some people, get some quotes.

This. Exhaust and tune will make or break every build.

Here's my buddy's mild 95" dyna. Wiseco 10.5:1 pistons, mildly ported 05 heads, 1.900 intake valve, beehive springs, t man 625, 10.7:1, carbed, thunderheader. With some more ignition tuning the curve cleaned up above 4k and made a little more power. This is a simple, strong 95". This top end has been together a long time and a lot of heavily abused miles with a couple different combos. Never made less than 100/100.

...what about people like us who live overseas? We have no choice but to buy a kit, so the question "which is the best 95'' kit?" still remains relevant...

Bore, heads and cams, how about injection? Is it in the tuner or is this need to be upgraded? Already have power commander and stage 1 flash. How about the speed limiter? Can it be disabled? 118 is fast enough but with the extra power 125 would be nicer.

I would toss the power commander and get either a Power Vision, Tts, or Sert. I would almost find a guy to tune it and ask what he recommends and likes using the best. As far as top speed limiters Harley's dont have them they have rpm limiters. A lot of stuff factors in on top speed like your weight and riding position how aerodynamic your bike is like bags and windshield and motor work. I would say with that work you can hit over 120.

I can run up to 118 mph and not be near red line and the motor cuts out just like when you hit the rev limiter, must be somthing limiting speed it pulls good right up to the mph.

I just installed a big bore kit from Automotive Machine in Fort Worth Texas.
Their kit is a 96" kit send them your cylinders and heads for machine work.
I must say i am impressed with it lots of of power for my 06 FXDLI. Going to put on a couple hundred miles then have it dyno tuned. Call them and talk to Eric 1-800-210-8675

Just looked at their 96" --> 105" kit. Man I'm salivating. My new (to me) '10 Fat Bob needs some go fast. I'd love to see some dyno sheets from this kit.

I did the Cyclerama 100/100 95" 'kit'. It does ok. He ported my stock heads, and it uses his cam grind. (If I remember right it's ground by Andrews). It's been going strong for quite a few years now. If I ever have the heads off, I would put in compression releases, I've toasted 2 starter gears before I finally put on the fancy heavy sprag version. (And both on trips) Once I changed the starter in Rapid City HDs parking lot, the other time I push started it and rode it 300 miles home without shutting it off.

Here it is with 2 different pipes, one a modified supertrapp (short megaphone). The other with rinehart staggered duals, with no baffles. (The baffles killed the top end, I'm talking 10hp)
