Default T Bars

ok so im new to the forum, tried searching but I cant get a good answer.. I wanna put either 8 inch or 10 inch t bars on my 2011 dyna wide.. my question is will I have to get new cable or can I run the stockers? I know the SB can go up to 14 on stock cables but what about the dyna wide? these are the bars im thinking of, maybe not this brand but this style

I know west coast t bars manufacture their bars to 10" at the grips. You might wanna check if that's the case with the ones you want. I would assume you're ok with stock cables. You might want to measure the length on your current handle bars. I would buy the bars, mount them and see if your cables will work before you order cables. Worst case you'll just have to buy cables. Are you wiring them internally?

I put Drag Specialties 10 Inch Buffalo T-Bars on my 05 FXD, feels great and was able to use my stock cables, the stock brake line however was just a bit to short so I bought a 43 inch E-Z Align brake line from Magnum Shielding and it was about 68 bucks and fit the bike good and in my opinion looks a lot better than the stock line. Hopes this helps.

I guess you could measure from top tripple to end if your cables leaving enough slack while turning bars and go from there? Maybe sneak into your ladies sewing supplies and sneak the fabric tape measure so it moves with the cables

I think that the '11 came with the low drag bars. I think that you can sqeeze about two inches of rise into stock cables but even with two inches I don't think you will be able to pull of 10" bars. I just put 10" bars on my WG and love the hell out of them! So imho I would say go with 10"ers.

I put 8" T-bars on my FXDC with plenty of cable length, so i would think you'd be fine.
Or just do what I did, buy a el cheapo set of T-bars, and try them out. I f it doesn't work and you don't want to get new cables, oh well, you're not out much money. If it works, ebay the cheapies and get a quality set of the same size bars.
