Default Bent front rotor

On my street bob, there is a slight pulse I guess you would call it in the front brakes. I put it up on a jack and it seems like the front rotor is bent. This is the stock 2 piece rotor. Any one know if it's possible to straighten these things? Or am I gonna have to brake down and buy one. My father in law is a machinist and thinks he could do it, but I'm not to sure. Thanks

My 1 piece bent and I marked the high spot and wacked it with a brass punch while it was on the bike. It straightened out perfectly. Well over 100k on it with no issues.

I used a dail indicator and dead blow hammer , no problems with 10k on it since

Both of mine were bent on front. I also used a dial indicator, but used a 24" pipe wrench with a piece of leather in the jaws to gently bend em back out/in from the top in place, as needed. You'd be amazed how little force it takes to bend those thin rotors when you're shooting for <0.003" runnout. And on one of them, even that didn't work. I guess it was bent kinda in a sort of "wave" pattern, cause I still got pulsation on one of them even with the outer portion straightened to <0.002" TIR. Had to replace that one. Worth a try.

We use a BFW (adjustable crescent wrench) with a piece of pipe on the end to tweak rotors. We sue a dial indicator for accuracy. Anything greater than .008" is considered warped although on a Dyna it is quite rare. Warping is occasionally an issue on a bagger due to it's extreme heft and the different calipers that create a lot of heat.

Thanks guys, I think put a dial indicator on it and find out how bad it's bent first. I really don't think it's that bad, but makes slow maneuvering difficult. And then try the "BFW" or a dead blow. I don't wanna spend $150 dollars on one right now. I'd like to wait until I upgrade my wheels. Thanks a lot.
