so im trying to decide between a side mount or a laydown mount for my license plate..anyone got anything to toss in pros or cons about both? my rear fender is the oem chopped style so its short..and id have to drill holes through the rear fender to mount and wire the lights..
I'd go with a lay down style plate.
I am in the process of switching my bob over to a more thug style and in the process I decided to order a set of leatherpros retro tsport saddle bags (one of the only sets of saddle bags that look decent on a dyna IMO).
I used to have my license plate mounted on the side, changed that out for a lay down one when my bags came in.
Can't get any pics at the moment sorry (fender is off for paint).
...id have to drill holes through the rear fender to mount and wire the lights..
I've got a bit of a plan to put mine on the end of the fender similar to the relocate kit but won't have to drill holes in the fender to do it.
I plan on the plate in same radius as the fender and being just an extension of the fender with the mount attached like the relocate kit.
Is that the chrome A/C cover HD offers, if so you might be replacing it in the future. I went thru two of them both within the 90 warranty my dealer gave me on them. They both cracked around the tapered mounting hole, second one fell off.

haha sh*t no way...wow..well il be running it this season next winter im doing my stage 1..already have the hd heavy breather so if it dont crack il sell it before it cracks sitting on my shelf haha
suede the canadian models come with something like that but a hideous third led brake light..i like the way the tire shows i didnt wanna hide it..the laydown plate would look sharp but the drilling the holes i dont like incase i dont like the mount..know what i mean..the side mount i liked originally but the lay down plate would look much cleaner
Just picked these up from PC, man I hated that derby cover, now I can finally get some sleep.
Just trying to be cool like you
nice i spy with my little eye a bear trap front peg..looks killer!..the derby looks good..im debating on paint filling like the timer cover..silver paint..just like i did my golf clubs..paint in with brush..let it dry till its tacky then get a card with a rag and some thinner and swipe across and voila!
so the bike hasnt been fired up since oct..i didnt fog the cylinders thinking maybe i will now before i dry start..best way healthiest way (for the bike) to turn over engine manually..crank or in 2nd and roll ??
I made a post couple days ago about those, got them and the mounts from DK-C, dig 'em! My Sick Saddle should get here anytime and then I'll adjust the pedals to the seat and let the "hell yeah " begin!
