What is the IPB?

Inner primary bearing.....sometimes it takes me a few minutes. Why is the 99 IPB an issue? Thanks for the heads up.

At least with a 99 motor you dont have to replace the cam chain tensioner shoes or have them checked every 20-30 K miles. Dyna's take some maintaining. Rubber engine mounts, brake pads, spark plugs, oil etc.

I do have the HD manual....but it doesn't have all the answers.

1. When I pull the choke to start the bike when cold.....I have to hold the choke or it will return to the closed position. Is that normal operation?

2. The front brake light switch is a little slow to dis-engage. It comes on the moment I touch the lever but during (and after) my pre-ride function check.....it was slow to come off. Almost as if the switch was too close to the lever. Again, is this normal?

3. I paid 45.00 for a set of rear brake pads that are supposed to be the "bee's knees" and won't squeal or squeak.....well, of course they were squeaky when I applied the rear brake. I put them in dry, meaning no type of lube any where on the pad, caliper bracket or sliders. Should I dis-assemble and add some type of lube?

I also have a 99.

My choke did the same thing. Just had to to tighten up the adjuster on the backside. It is plastic so only do 1/4 turns at a time so u dont crack it like was mentioned before.

For the break squeal. It could also be your rotor is glazed. When I do brakes on my cars I always scuff the rotors up with sand paper and my DA sander. Havent had to change em on the dyna yet but will be doin the same when I do.

What kinda pads did you get that are the bees knees of pads? I just got Lyndall Gold Z pads but haven't installed them as of yet. I got them for stopping grip and because they are not suppose to generate brake dust. I'm tired of cleaning rusty brake dust from my chrome spokes. They were a lot more than $45 a pair.

I wasn't complaining about the price and I wish I could take back the "bee's knees" comment. I didn't think I'd get called out on it so many times....and I didn't mean to insult anyone else's brake pads. When I went to the indy and asked for rear pads he gave me DP Sintered Metal pads.... when they cost 45 bucks, I was like "these things are how much?" then he went into how they were worth it and practically guaranteed they'd never squeak.
