I used black Appliance epoxy for my bullets, stalks license plate bracket, rear shock bold covers. Perfect for a gloss black look. Still not as good as powder coat.

I sandblasted mine and had them powder coated satin black. They look awesome. I'd take the powder coat route

Yuuup! That is if you want to do a proper job. it's very easy to do. Just unplug them from under the seat, take the signals off the bike, unpin and disassemble them, and paint. Then just remount them.not hard at all.

Not absolutely necessary, but dismantling them would definitely give you the best result, and will save a lot of other stuffing around (eg needing to carefully mask around the ends, keeping paint off the bike, and trying to get your rattle-can pointed in all the angles etc.)

It's not too hard to dismantle the light units.

I know this thread is super old but I can't find answers anywhere else. How do you remove the front turn signals completely to paint them? The wiring looks like it goes inside a box. I didn't want to start taking apart things and run into an issue. If someone could explain how to remove the entire turn signal from the handlebars including the wiring and the bulb/housing so I can plasti dip them, that would be awesome.

Thanks a lot.
