You may experience a little loss in MPG, it will probably take a little bigger draught if allowed but...I suspect some of that will be the fault of your right wrist and brain working in conjunction with the grin that satisfies the inner brain from the gained power
There ain't no free chicken Man, you want more grin, well, you're gonna have to pay for it a little bit
You yank that wrist back and enjoy...."tonight we ride...for tomorrow we die"
My Super Glide went from 42mpg, bone stock & cold-blooded as hell, to 46-47mph after a/c, some carb tuning (including a '88 XL needle) & Cycle Shack slip-ons.
Thanks for the input, this is the first big change I've done to the bike myself, and of course it had me second guessing to make sure that I didn't screw something up.
I got a chance to ride again today and, though it was only about twenty miles, it seems like it's not that far off from what most of you said. I'm at around a little over 30 MPG by my loose estimate, and it seems to be getting a little better. So I will keep an eye on it and I'm sure the adaptive function in the EFI will adjust the best it can until I can get it tuned.
I hardly ever ride in stop and go traffic and my mpg varies between 40-46 depending how I ride. Are you calculating your mpg when you fill up or going off the gauge?

My commute to work has a few stops, but it's uphill halfway both directions and lots of twisty roads, so there is plenty of gearing up and down. I based my estimate today on the gauge, I used somewhere around 3/16 of a tank for around 25 miles, the temperature outside was about 37 in the AM and mid 40s - lower 50s on my way home tonight. Also it's quite possible that I did the math wrong when working out the mileage.
Like I said, I'm not too worried about it, I'll just keep an eye on it over the next few rides and see what it does. I was just curious if it might be a sign if something more serious. I'm hoping to be able to get a tune before too long, but I drained the budget on the pipes, haha!
