Nope, I'd have to disagree, in fact the drooping rear was the one thing that didn't look right to me on Rev. 1. Now a lot of the Dynas with the raised rears, while they will handle better don't look right because of the fender to tire gap, the Cafe style rear doesn't have that problem
OP got it right by raising up the rear end, it is a form follows function bike and as he correctly stated he picked up cornering clearance AND it tucks in the front giving it better handling characteristics, quicker turn in...
