I like the Mustang Fastback I put on my 2005 FXDL. It did move me back about an inch and it's wider than stock in front making ground slightly further away. Great lower back support, quite firm for long day comfort, and looks great. I had a Lepera Daytona on an XL1200R and feel they are very similar seats. Sorry, no idea about the bi**h seat comfort on either. If I was going to choose between these seats, I'd buy whichever was cheaper.
But never, ever buy a gel seat, my last bike had factory option gel seats and I hated them: too hot to touch in the summer sun and no improvement for long range comfort. Roasted monkey butt after two hours.
Wow I didn't expect this many replies. thanks guys. keep them coming. I guess I have my work cut out for me, deciding on a style and price point.
I love the look of the C&C fast back, but wonder if I should get a more comfortable looking unit such as the squareback for the passenger. Perhaps if she wants to ride that often she should consider her own bike. The Street bob isn't going to be much of two person touring unit.
I have the Mustang Fastback and I love it. I think the Squareback would be a little more comfortable for the Mrs. but she doesn't ride with me that often so, I figure I'd factor in for looks and the Fastback is good enough for the rides we take together.
I just ordered a Lepera Bare Bones in leather with biker gel and special stitching. It should be built and shipped by the first of April. I can't wait.
I'm 5'9 and the stock seat on my 14 Street Bob hurts the bottom of my tail bone very bad after a few hundred miles. It is comfortable everywhere else except for the tail bone.
I have a Badlander on my FXR. I can deal with it all day. My wife HATES it. So much so, that I ended up with another bike.
The Dyna has a Sundowner(on it when I got it). She loves it. And today, I got to turn some miles on it..... That damn seat is nice. I can park myself in it, and ride to Texas.
I know the Sundowner isn't a fastback, but, the fastback(like the Badlander) isn't for passengers. Just taking random chicks home, and making sure they don't want to ride with you after that.
I just put my C&C sport tour seat on my FXDC and I love it! Havent put to many miles on it yet as it is currently snowing but what I have done I will never look back! My wife loves the rear seat to. Best investment I ever made! Besides the bike of course!
