Default is this a good deal

I been looking for a new 2014 fat bob. and I went to a few dealers around my area and I got a dealer down to 15700 out the door tax title licence whole 9. out the door for 15700. it's the gloss black and Gray paint 2 up seat. pardon my ignorance but it's this a good deal or should I keep shopping. I am in no hurry to buy.. but I don't want to pass up a good deal..

How long did it take him to make that offer? If it happened fast tell him you can do better but want to give him the chance to meet the price and then offer 800 to 1200 less. And never reveal your source!

Where I live, you pay sticker. Nothing less. You might get a part thrown in or free install but that's it. You can't even pit the dealers against each other because literally NONE of them negotiate. If you can get out the door for less than 16k INCLUDING tax, you've got yourself a hell of a good deal my friend. If you won't pay that, you either can't afford it or you don't want it that bad. FYI I bought mine new in 2010 for $16,294 (upgraded paint, security) plus tax, title, and all that BS. All I got for free was the install of my pipes, intake, fuelpak, and speedo/tach combo which I also paid retail for. They tried like hell to sell me on an extended warranty and I told them they'd have to throw in some parts for free but they were unwilling to do that. Next time I buy I will definitely shop some other dealers and make a road trip to pick it up because there's gotta be deals out there.

In 2012 I got my FXDC for 500 under base list price. WITH custom colors.. at the time my bike MSRP's for 13974.. a base color (black) FXDC was 12999 OTD.. They need to sell it far worse than you need to buy it..

If you run into a host of dealers who wont negotiate because they are all in on a secret cabal not to undercut each other.. but who(m) would rather throw on a few parts and sell it at MSRP or a smidge higher.. move on..

Like Joe K. said be willing to travel.. I was shopping bikes before buying mine and was willing to go to "wherever" to get the best deal and roadtrip my way home just for the fun of it..

There are some great web sites that are also available to do some shopping on.. for example:

http://www.chopperexchange.com/Searc...yna_Street_Bob

I just found a ne Bob with 3 miles on it (test drive or break in) for 13349.. offer them 12850-ish.. if they take it cool if not move on.. have your own financing worked out already if you can.. HD finance is great for those who may have a few credit dings.. but if you have decent credit get a better deal through your bank or insurance company..

Your dealer wants to move the unit and to sell you a "package" the bike, the warranty package, any dealer extras (my dealer wanted to offer me a 500 dollar simonize product).. no thanks.. and financing.. (also no thanks)

Good luck

he was quick to return with that offer I bet I could get more out if the deal. thanks for all the information. I am going to get them to throw some pipes on it. and some gear. like some of you all said they need the sell more than I need the bike.. they dealer slowed thier eagerness to seek the bike by calling 2 times in the last 24 hr. I am sure if they won't go lower on the price I can get some goodies thrown on the bike.
