maddghost will be on the money, it will be from the back of the inner primary either the inner bearing race walked outward or inward
dont just replace the seals without resolving the problem as you will have to pull apart again
my inner bearing race was maybe half a mm or less from the spec in the manual and i thought it was close enough when measured but it leaked, albeit less with new seal
My 05 leaks just a tad. Same here can't really locate where it's coming from, but it is at the rear of primary. The bike can sit for a week and I'll have a spot about the size of a dime, so I don't loose any sleep over it.

Oh it's a Harley AFTER ALL?
You are right however that is a low impact seal with hardley any pressure so it isn't likely to get too much worse with a little luck. But that would bug the **** out of me on any long rides.
The counterman sold me a new o-ring when I bought supplies for the oil change, could try another one. The second time I came back , he suggested Loctite 565 which has teflon in it which is where I get the idea for the tape.I have weeping from my primary drain plug and a leak from my bottom allen bolt on the primary case close to the drain plug

You aslready said that yesterday the o-ring is fine.

The plug doesn't need to be more than just past snug. Say yo have a four inch long wrench - then all you need is to feeltaughtness on your fingers and it should not leak. It will be hardley worth it to spend a couple hunfred dollars for an inch/lb torque wrench.
I had a similar leak on the primary and after a lot of looking it was determined that the tower gasket had shifted since the mid-control shift rod was removed when the forward controls were put on. The oil leaked randomly out of the back side of the primary cover and ran down onto the allen bolts and drain plug. I took the outer primary cover off and ultimately ended up plugging the shifter holes on both cases with automotive silicone sealant about an inch deep in the hole. No more leaks since then.
Tower gaskets are a possibility, also use a strong flashlight and look at the shifter shaft where it enters the transmission. A little gasket there tends to get worn out after 15K miles of shifting, oil will migrate to the bottom of the case and give you fits trying to find it.
Teflon tape is a thread lubricant....not a sealant.
Loctite does make a product that sets in oily conditions believe its Loctite 243.
Clean and dry everything then use an old hot rodders trick.....spray the entire area where you suspect leak with ladies deodorant (think soft and dry). It will dry and leave a powder residue. Ride it or let it sit.....the powder residue will clearly show you the path the oil is taking.
The best part is, the powder washes off with water.
