Had dealer order and install a set of V&H 2-1 pipes on my new 14 Lowrider. When I got home I noticed that the pipes covered the dipstick. Called dealer and they acted like they did what they were to do, install them. Question is wrong pipes? Installed wrong? Bad design from V&H?
I would have thought the dealer would have at least called you and told you of the problem before installing them I know the dealer I use would have done this. I read somewhere yesterday of a pipe that covered the dipstick, but I can't remember the one, I would call V&H.

It is for this reason I usually give up the typical "CASH DISCOUNT" when I make purchases on installed services. If you did pay by credit card call the card company and tell them you want to dispute the charge. They will remove the money from the merchant's account and you will not be responsible for the charge until they make it right.
No Effen way they should have installed those pipes!
I believe this was identified as a problem w/V&H pipes (Dyna & possibly Softail)...I'd say contact V&H first to verify & then you know who to call next...
Have sent an email to V&H, will go see the dealer also. Plus they removed the passenger pegs as they said those dont fit with these pipes. I can live with that, but the dipstick is a pain

Man all of this without even a phone call I'd be right fit to be tied! do not pass go do not collect 200$
After all without passenger pegs how will you get the chickies on with you?
Somone else also posted just the other day that they had to loosen their exhaust and lower it to check/change their engine oil. I'd never put up with that.
IMO and With that said every time I hear that V&H burble, loud for nothing, poor performance limp dcik noise it makes my stomach turn. I can tell a V&H pipe from a mile awy. I will never have a set of V&H pipes there are wat too many out on the road! Sorry to rant.
