Default Dyna frame difference

Dyna frame should be almost the same as far as its height is concern. If this is the case, why does dyna models was built with different height seat. What makes their seat height so different from each other?

thats right! what am I thinking. just ride my fxdc to the dealer with a measuring tape. and so if I replace my shocks with an inch shorter, should I worry about tire hitting the inside of the rear fender when it bottoms out? I have hardware sticking out of there.

huh?
wideglide/streetbob 25.5
lowrider 25.4 ( runs shorter shocks)
fatbob/switchback 26.1

all dynas except the lowrider use 12" shocks. if i remember right the low rider is 11.5.

for a whopping 3/4 of an inch difference between all current models.
when you look at the 2 that are significantly different they have less rake, without significantly shorter forks, which pushes the front end up. thus part of the difference in seat height. the seats themselves account for the rest of the difference as the fatbob and switchback have more padding in the seat.

I'm sorry. I really don't understand your question. Are you trying to lower your Dyna?

Yes! Im trying to lower my superglide custom but not low enough to where it bottoms out and gouge my tire because of hardware sticking out through my rear fender. I weight about 165 and passenger weigh 150.

well an 11 inch is as short as they make em. theres a chance you'll bottom out on hard bumps. cranking em up to the stiffest settings will cut that chance down.

if you go with the 11" progressives i'd probably get the HD models for stiffer springs. you should also look into shorter fork springs.

I wouldn't lower it...when you ride two up you will lower the clearance. If anything, raise it a half to an inch
