I am going to post this for my brother LouDude. We are both on here, but he is more of a lurker whereas I am more of a poster.
We both have 2006 Dyna's...his is a silver Superglide and mine was a black Street Bob.
I have always liked the black motor better and I believe that with his silver bike and silver engine it was just a lot of silver! We are doing some Andrews 26 cams and a 95" big bore kit by BigPete who is also on here.
We have gathered up most of the parts and have already started to tear it up! Not really a rush on this since we both have different schedules and I have to room in the garage.
I'm just going to litter this thread with pics as we go along.
Here's a look into the primary...we will be switching to the Hayden tensioner and Baker IPB. Getting rid of the shifter shaft and putting a Softail chrome primary cover on.
Had to get some proof that my brother actually does do some work on his own bike!
A look behind the primary. We are going to weld the bolts for the rotor / stator. I have a whole other assembly if this one gets messed up becuase I switched to the 2007 parts.
This brings us to the current state of the bike. Still gathering up some odds and ends, but I had to at least get the tranny back in after it was painted.
This should be cool. I'm keepin' an eye on this thread.
By the way, I have to remove my engine next week. Was it hard to do? Did you have to rotate the rear wheel 'til you reached 5th gear or something like that before removing the cylinders?
