I have a glue pull system. On something like that I would just weld a glue tab on & go with the slide hammer. I'm sure that would get 90% of it out. To get the last bit is what separates the amateur's from the pro's. Harley tanks are awesome because you can open up the center and get a good tool on there & have lots of leverage off the tunnel. Hey Joe, if you powder, say a tank in flat black. Do you still get shiny spots in it like where your pants rub on the ends of the tank or on the rear fender where the rear seat rubs it? I would imagine powder to be more durable
[QUOTE=JRK5892;12528974]Gadianton, no sir powder does not wear like that. Sweet, I have a couple customers that need tanks & rear fenders that they would like done. Can I send u a PM and give you a call? Not sure what the protocol is on that. What is your turn around time?
I am a PDR Tech....running my own PDR business full time for the past 10 years...I also own a 99 FXDX . I have some experience with repairing HD's...most of my success stories are when working on HD fenders. Tanks can be tricky....the metal is thick and with amount of pressure needed to move the metal, cracking the paint is possible. There is very limited access to your dent. Going thru the fuel filler or the fuel gauge really limits the ability to get on that spot. If it were me, I would try heat and a glue puller/lifter.
