Default Questions about Dyna modification

Hello everyone from Thailand ^^
I'm a new member here so please have mercy on me since my Eng is not very good.
I have some questions regarding the way I'm gonna do with my 2012 Dyna Super Glide.

1. I am 5'6" and 154 lbs but I would like to lower my Super Glide for an inch (front & rear) with Progressive drop-in fork and Progressive 11" rear
shocks (the stock shocks are 12") I like it low. Anyway, do I need to do anything with the kick stand? Can I still use the stock one?

2. I really like to shave off some weights so If I were to change its fuel tank, would it look funny to put a Sportster fuel tank on?
In this case I'd also go for shortened fenders and customized paints.

3. Please recommend the tuner other than Screaming Eagle or Fuelpak.

Thank you in advance
Ukrit from Thailand

I would seriously consider changing the stock jiffy stand out to something shorter. From other post I have read the bike could fall over really easy. Not a lot of weigh saving in going to a Sportster fuel tank I would leave it alone. Sorry about the tuner someone else will have to chime in on that since I own and really like my SEPST. Welcome and good luck.

Ukrit,

Welcome aboard,

{Mac} you can grind the locking tab and carefully bend the end however after all that you'll still want more lean angle so spend a few bucks and get a lowered stand like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHROME-KICKS...item2c7e5bcaa9

2. I really like to shave off some weights so If I were to change its fuel tank, would it look funny to put a Sportster fuel tank on?
In this case I'd also go for shortened fenders and customized paints. {Mac} I personally don't think a Sportster tank would look right but to each their own - that's what its all about. About weight, I don't think you would save any however Dyna's are pretty agile as is and don't really need to be put on a diet .

3. Please recommend the tuner other than Screaming Eagle or Fuelpak. {Mac} I have a pretty built motor and wanted to be able to set the base-lines and then have the bike auto-tune for the environment so I replaced the stock ECM with the Daytona Twintec; very easy to work with and works great without CEL's - http://www.daytona-twintec.com/TCFI.html

Hope this helps, Mac...

A shorter stand would be best but you can get by with the stock if your careful how you park. I personally wouldnt worry about shaving off any weight, at 154 lbs your light enough already Lol Seriously... on my superglide I notice no difference between running near empty or with 4.7 gal of fuel. IMHO small tanks suck. As far as a tuner goes take under consideration whether your stopping at a stage 1 or planning on more engine mods down the road.

Better safe than sorry, right?
I just ordered a 1" under stock kickstand from Ebay.
$70 is pretty much better than seeing my bike lying on the ground.
Thanks everyone ^^

cheapest way around your problem, get some shock lowering blocks, drop your front forks thru head triple tree, but this mod will affect your handleing... or look for a lower seat. if running forwards in stal the Harley parts that bring them back a bit, me personally im the same height as you and my low rider is good for us shorties
