Default 2014 Street Bob help

Needing help with better understanding some stuff. I got recently got a 2014 Street Bob not to long ago and I was thinking about putting some Vance and Hines Short Shots on it but I kept seeing that I'll also need to get a tuner of some sort and a new air cleaner. So my question is which air cleaner and tuner would be best to go with. And I dont need something high dollar for lots of performance just something good. Im new to upgrading bikes cause i never bothered to put money into my cheap vstar before this haha so any help will be greatly appreciated!

The way I understand it is that you only need a tune IF you upgrade your pipes AND your air cleaner

If you just want to upgrade pipes you will not need to add a tuner

If you at a later date want to add a new air cleaner then you will need a tuner

I got the Fuel Moto Micro EFI Tuner and their Pro Billet Stage 1 Air Cleaner kit for $315.99 with shipping. They also have package deals with exhaust systems.

Thanks for the quick replies! If I can go with just the pipes thatd be ideal. Im just wanting that sound right now I dont care to much about extra performance at the moment

I did exhaust same day I bought my 14 Street Bob. No need for tuner until you do the air cleaner. Or if you do air cleaner no need for for tune till you do exhaust. This was also told to me by the service manager at the dealer.

I literally just bought my bike last Monday and had long discussion about it. They are selling new bikes with full exhaust right out the door already installed no tune. They said same can be done with breather. But most want exhaust first.
