Default Progressive shock question

I've been debating buying a set of road king air shocks for my FXD. While cruising ebay I've also seen 13" and 13.5" progressive 412s for touring models at a good price. I know they don't make a dyna specific 412 at 13" and I've read about the sportster/fxr 412s being too soft.

Would the standard weight 412s for a touring model be too stiff on a dyna? For reference I'm about 240lbs. Mostly ride solo.
Thanks.

l would'nt bother. l bought Progressive 430s for my 07 FXD and another set for my 11 Night Rod Special. Neither made any difference in terms of ride quality or handling and not a lot of difference through the range of adjustment either....

13" Progressive 444 shocks made a huge difference to both the comfort and handling of my bike. I realize there is a significant difference, both in price and design, between the 412 and the 444, but I doubt that the 412 shocks would not be an improvement over the OE shocks.

I put a set of 412 on my SG over the winter and it improved the ride quite a bit from the stock shocks. I bought the heavy duty because I'm about 260 lbs and haven't bottomed out yet and the shocks are at the mildest setting.

Shocks on HDF are widely discussed and misunderstood! Unfortunately most Harleys when new come on cheap shocks that are marginal at best. Replacing them with different cheap shocks may not bring much relief or improved comfort. The plain truth is that only with better quality shocks, with the inevitable extra expense, can we look forward to a significantly improved ride. We have an HDF sponsor in Motorcycle Metal who supply good quality shocks at discount prices. Give Howard there a call - and never look back!
