Forward install ?
I bought forwards for my 07 Dyna. The kit is different from the earlier Dyna's.
I didn't want to pull off the inner and outer primaries so I ordered the shifter shaft cap and the bracket to hold the old shift rod to the motor case so it doesn't flop around.
These two pieces were from the earlier Dyna kit.
Question is this: when I back out the bolt in the motor case to mount the bracket, do I need to take it all the way out to reapply loctite? Or can I just back it out enough for the bracket and just re-tighten?
Also, does anyone know the torque for that bolt?

I just added forwards to my 06 Superglide and since I was installing a chrome inner and outter primary I just went ahead and put on the forwards then.As far as your install goes,... I'm unclear of just which bolt your talking about. Gimmie a lil better locoation and I'll look up the torque specs in my service manuel.

KC99......JUST BOUGHT AN 07 FXDC SUPER GLIDE CUSTOM LAST SATURDAY, WOULD LIKE TO ADD FORWARD CONTROLS ALSO, BUT THE HD DEALERSHIP WAS GOING TO CHARGE AROUND A THOUSAND BUCKS INCLUDING PARTS AND FOUR HOURS LABOR. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE INNER AND OUTER PRIMARIES HAD TO BE REMOVED. ALSO WOULD LIKE ANY INPUT ON SOME AFTERMARKET PIPES, STOCK PIPES ARE WAY TO QUITE. LOOKED AT THE SCREAMIN EAGLE PIPES FOR THE 07, BUT TO BE HONEST THEY ARE REALLY UGLY AND DON'T SOUND MUCH BETTER THAN STOCK. THEY TOLD ME IN ORDER TO ADD ANY OTHER TYPE OF PIPES THE COMPUTER HAD TO BE CHANGED/REPROGRAMED OR WHAT EVER. AND AGAIN WAS LOOKING AT A COOL THOUSAND DOLLARS INCLUDING THE PIPES, COMPUTER AND LABOR. WHAT FORWARD CONTROL KIT DID YOU PURCHASE FOR YOURS? KEEP US UP TO DATE ON THIS.

Why not get a sawsall with a good blade and cut the old
shifter shft from behind the inner primary cover. I know
I've read where others have done that on there's. Do a
search and see what comes up.
