I'm having an issue with sputtering. I changed the fuel filter and put Lucas injector cleaner in it. It has new fuel also. I cleaned the k&n filter.
It sputters only when you are very aggressive on the throttle but seems to clear itself out if you keep the throttle open. It just started this problem two weeks ago. Yesterday I took off on it and it was at a very high idle. Rode it about ten miles like that and shut it off. Waited about an hour before starting again. The idle is back to normal but the sputtering came back. I need some info on where to start trouble shooting. If y'all don't mind.
What do the plugs look like? How many miles?
Check to see if it threw any codes.
I think those motors came with 8 degree injectors and were supposed to get replaced with 25 degree ones. Something to look into.
I'll look at the plugs tonight. How can I check for codes without taking it to the dealer? This is the first bike I've had with EFI and a computer on board.
I'll also check the injector plug. I believe it all started after I gave the bike a good bath. Thanks for the info. I'll let y'all know what I find this evening

When ya bathed her, did ya use high pressure? That'll put some H20 and soap in lotsa places it shouldn't be - and can also knock connectors loose.
