Just for the experiment I put some bagger air shocks on my Superglide. Pretty damn smooth ride. The look won't be for everyone, but if you don't care so much about the look this was a cheap substitute for some of the aftermarket options.
FYI, these are stock 13" touring shocks (I wanted the suspension travel). a set of 12" off a Streetglide would look better, but I got these cheap.
I have the 12" 2012 SG air shocks and I love them. I've read putting in some heavier weight shock oil makes a world of difference and you use less air. This winter I'm planning on swapping the oil out for some Amsoil shock therapy medium which I think is 10wt. I have it in my front end and it was a great result. I got some Schrader valves from napa to replace the plastic lines and carry a HD pump to adjust when I get into the mountains or load up. And painted them black.
You can almost see the Schrader valves in this pic
I have a set from my 2005 Road Glide in excellent condition. Still have the air hoses and fill port attached. I also have a very used HD air shock pump that I can through into the deal.
I had some stock Road King air shocks lowered by Bitchin Bagers and put them on my FatBob. They do ride nice until I hit a some what medium pot home then it feels like they bottom out. I started with 20 psi and worked my way up to 33 psi. I have the later model shocks that are good to 60 psi. Still not sure if I'm going to keep them.
