Can't say that I have either, on any Harley I've owned. That's one of those mods that there is no going back from unless you want to reweld the struts after they've been cut off. My guess would be that you run into a good chance of HD warranty problems also since they'd probably consider that the frame has been modified. I could be wrong, but I think I'd wait until any warranty is done and then look into it, if that's still what you want.
The day afterI got the pink slip I cut 7" off the back fender and moved the lights up. It just accentuated the gap between fender and tire and didn't look too good. Got the sawzall and cut the struts off. Got a fender blank off E bay and cut it down with a 4" makita.
Made up some welded chain fender struts and mounted fender to pas. peg mount hole and belt guard tab on swing arm. I had to add a tab on other side. This left back of seat 6" in air so I made a fiberglass 1/2 seat pan for back of seat...Powdercoated everything satin black...(not F.G. !) My girlfriend liked to ride the old fender and this mod. put an end to that. LOOK INSANE AND WORKS GOOD !
Do you have any pics?................................I would like to see this.........I just cant grasp the concept........................Lo................. ....................
Working on pics...If you need to see one - Exile has the RX Streetfighter - subtract f. fender - add red rims and motor top ends...
My seat is cleaner - as I use a F/G seat pan - and the kit didn't cost $60k....
Funny thing is it looks like the front has been raised and the rear lowered - when the opposite is true...
Of the 200 best bikes for 2006 - mine didn't look like any of them. Draws a crowd for a non chromer too...Nut'n like it !
I managed to delete my bike pics the other day while transfering them. I'll try to have a buddy take more tomorrow.
I have a camera but my software is fighting me. Certified e tard...VERY FRUSTRATING !That would be great if you could post them...
