For the record, it is NOT illegal to sell or buy these parts for California. what makes them "illegal" is using them on highway going machines. Tell me I have an H-D fuel injected bike Im building into a drag bike and I *cant* buy a fuel management system?
Of course, I cant say that I wouldnt give the finger the the man about my road going motorcycle and its need for proper performance fueling and ignition.
They want to stop pollution? Regulate city buses that spew black soot from their exhausts. Regulate the semi-trucks registered in Mexico driving on our freeways that have abysmal maintenance let alone any functional "emissions" equipment. Regulate the central valley that generates more Co2 and HC emissions. Invest in more nuclear, solar and wind power generation and end natural gas plants.
I LOVE California. To visit.
Weather, wine, chicks. The BEST! Every time I see Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein or Jerry Brown on TV I start farting for some reason.
dont you know its easier for them to go after the little guy
I think after the whole Leland Yee debacle, they are a bit more chiggity checking themselves before they completely wriggity wreck themselves on idividual freedoms and infringments.
In all honesty every harley dealer here ONLY carries HD factory parts, and 50 state screamin eagle parts. They have all stopped Dyno tuning.
Still have ways to get quality parts out here but I admit, its getting a bit trickier. Again though, its up to the individual owner to decide if they want to "take the risk" of using these "non CARB approved" parts in an "illegal" manner.

Who says they want to stop pollution? I just paid $25 for an e-test.
Bikes, especially today's machines, burn cleaner than a car could ever hope to. I have always loved living here, but much of the legislation passed here makes about as much sense as wearing your pants on your head. CA was the state that spear-headed the regulation of 2-stroke mx bikes due to "noise pollution and excess emission". Passed by lawmakers who know nothing about how an engine works. 2-strokes burn hot and because of that combustion, burn clean. And as far as noise goes, a thumper(at least the ones I have ridden and ridden with) are much louder.
Back to the issue. fuelmoto has said they would send me any of their products with out a problem. None of these modules apparently require any dealer imput and can be done from ones home or laptop. Am I correct in understanding this? And thank you for the help, gents!
Maguire Harley Davidson in Walnut Creek Ca (now moved to Pacheco) has a big sign in the shop area that says they cannot install or sell anything that violates the California Air Resources Board regulations.
Just ride your bike to Reno if you need pipes, cams and tuners.
Imagine that, Harley owners become criminals as they smuggle forbidden parts across the Ca border.

theres a couple of shops in the bay area like that as well. apparently carb issued fines to alot of dealers.
Time to join your local Motorcycle rights organization. the EPA has been after bikes for years. Makes no sense to me. Even a totally hopped up bike pollutes less than a car and gets better mileage. Fight for the remaining freedoms we still have while we still have them. Thank God I live in Montana. You can permanently plate your bike here for 100 bucks.
Cyclesolutions will sell you what you need...........
Great prices too..............
Live Free = Ride Free...........
Careful with cycle solutions! They dicked me around for a month before I got my parts, they'll never get another dime from me. I go through direct cycle parts now, they're usually about the same price

I lived in Kalispell for a few years and LOVED it. Montana is an amazing place.
Khalifornastan is a real pain in the butt with all the regs...
My local shop did my pipes by just saying they were adding a customers motorcycle accessory. They said that's about the only way they can do it now.
