Awesome responses from everyone. Thank you all so much. I love it when so many people respond and create such diverse discussion. As always there are several takes on these torx fastners, some good but most do not seem to like them.
After reading and thinking about it, I believe I will buy the Harbor Freight kit 67914.
It has T10-15-20-25-27 bits in 1/4" drive sockets and T30-40-45-50 bits in 3/8" drive sockets. Reviews by 3 people that sound outstanding. These are $9.99 and have a lifetime warranty. The kit from Lowe's #85228 is $22.47 and is almost identical to HF kit with one exception. The T30 bit is in a 1/4' drive socket unlike HF 3/8" drive. Lowe's also says lifetime warranty.
Now a question for some of those who suggest swapping out the Torx bolts.
Where do you go buy the replacements? Nut & bolt specialty retailers? Such as or where else?
How do you know what to ask for or do you take a sample? Which means you are down until you have completed the process of obtaining what you want to get.
When I was at Home Depot the other day I did see where they sell the individual Torx bit in drive sockets for $1.97 each which would basically be about $18 for the complete set as needed. Not bad either and great if you only needed to buy one size for whatever reason. Just wanted to throw that out there. Personally I don't live real near a Harbor Freight location but I am always happy to find a reason to ride the bike somewhere to pick up something I want.
AGAIN... THANK YOU ALL for contributing to this discussion!

I have an inexpensive harbor freight torx and allen/hex set.
Used it for several years.
I also have several other Harbor Freight tools.
April is FREE month and if you go online they have several free NO purchase required coupons. Flashlight, tape measure, scissor are free with coupon...if you are on their FREE email list there are other items free this month with a coupon: digital meter , small tarp and the cheap household quality screwdriver set.
Harbor Freight is hit or miss and they change the quality of the same item sometimes BUT it does present a bargain for some items. Just need to study the item first..
I have several sets, these are my goto sets. Hex and torx from 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" drive. Lifetime warranty, $100 per set that I got on sale for $30 per set. Great quality well made.
I converted all my torx to allens! Simplified my tool kit!
Absolutely hate torx. Don' know why they put them on anything. They never seem to fit snugly even when they're the right size. Agreed that if you can change them out to allen [hex] head do it.
I am so suspicious of Torx hardware that I always test the next size up. That's the main problem with Torx, the smaller size sometimes seems like it could be right, and then... STRIP.
