It was. I bought a terminal end.72076-00 and crimped it by hand. Its a pretty tight fit into the ECM plug. Be gentle. Make sure its snapped in place with the clear holder so it doesn't back out when you connect it back to the ECM.

What is the part number of your tach?

Thanks for the info! He bought an aftermarket tach..its similar to a drag specialties mini tach, but not sure of the exact brand. It looks cool though, all black, with a white face.

Talk about back from the dead thread. that said thanks and glad it worked out for you. I have a 11 FXDC and there is NO pin in slot 3 at the ECM. The wires for the Coil at the ECM lead me to the coil. I had to use a dual fire to single fire converter. It worked after a bunch of confusion

I hear ya.. my '11 didn't have the pin in the harness. Went online and got p/n 72076-00. Removed the blue plastic dummy plug, crimped wire, pushed pin in then routed wire up to the tach.Great to hear you got yours running!

So you had a pin terminal 3 harness side but not plug side? I don't have anything anything in 3. Both sides blank. nor the unicorn pink pin.

What I'm figuring out is somewhere/sometime in mid 2000's is it looks like there were multiple rolling changes w the dyna

Talked to Harley parts guy and there seems to have been multiple revisions in code/ecm Hence the reason certain tachs work with certain models. Its harley proprietary BS really.
