Not sure if cat converter is there but I would assume so. AC is stock as is everything else on the inside. I did replace the battery with a better one, not exactly new and maybe not powerful enough. It seems to turn fine when warm as well, it just doesn't fire easily. Only after repeated times of trying does it drain the battery so obviously battery is not good enough.
Good idea to check the plugs, the color should tell me something, and I might swap them out as a test.
In reference to my previous post. The battery connections shouldn't cause it to run hot, just the hot starting issues. More than likely, it's air/fuel. Your battery does sound well used though based on the need to charge it and the full drain issues.
No ****? I thought the tighter I torqued those suckers down, the cooler it would be...damn
You mentioned that the AC is stock but neglected to say whether or not it was clogged. I recommend checking it to see if there is a build up of oil on the inside or dirt/grime on the outside. Sometimes the AC is easily overlooked and the twins like to breathe...
That buzzing noise when you turn the ignition over, is it priming gas ? Maybe it floods ... also I need to try to get a stronger battery.
buzzing noise is your fuel pump coming up to pressure. FI bikes with a weak pump or battery may not come up to pressure quick enough causing a perceived hard start. waiting until the pressure comes up (stops buzzing) and then hitting the starter will probably continue to work for you..hot or cold.
CA is super clean, like-new condition. Let me describe this issue again hopefully in more detail
- When cold. turn ignition on and wait for "buzzing" to stop. Push start button and bike immediately starts, no hesitation what so ever. The motor seems to barely crank over and the bike immediately starts, very easily.
- When warm. start with same process, usually struggles a bit to start but usualy starts on 3rd time or so.
- When hot. start with same process. turn over nicely but no fire. from time to time the bike starts with a bit of difficulty, at time I drain the battery. I usually then have to put the jumpers on it and it eventually starts.
Just seems like its a fuel or fuel mixture issue, or a timing issue. Or a back pressure / vacuum issue ???

When it's hot, try starting it right after hitting the start button while the pump is still "buzzing" instead of waiting for it to stop. I had the exact same issue, and this method works every time for me.
