Appreciate all the welcomes, seems like a good group of people here.

As far as the cables and apes are concerned - I looked pretty extensively on here and got kinda mixed reviews on using stock cables. Some said you could, others that some would need to be replaced/rerouted. I know ramhunter made it work but honestly I'm not really into the stretched cable look, so I opted to get a new ones. Everyones on a budget, but I assume just do it right the first time!

Take care,
Jim
Might just be the type of bars I dunno but on my R6C 14"s I had plenty of room and have slack to boot. Relocating the clutch line was no bog deal and IMO looks a lot better than the stock location. It was not a mater of budget, but I am not going to spend money where it was not needed.
But in your case your type of bars might have needed the extra clearance.

Ever think about lowering the rear a touch ? What else do you have planned ?

Please don't take what I said personally about the budget, it wasn't directed to you by any means. I have seen the threads of the bikes you've done in the past, as well as how swiftly you modded your bob, so I knew you weren't cutting any corners for financial purposes. With that being said, I more so meant for people looking to go to bigger apes but not wanting to spend the money on cables, that I knew I'd be more frustrated if I ordered bars and the cables a.) didn't work or b.) were installed with some tensioned and I had failure.

I did read a thread where someone installed Burly 14s and definitely need +4 - +6 - +6 on their cables.... but I actually feel like my cables from Burlys kit are too long...especially the throttle and idle cable.

As for planned mods - I almost bought Burlys front and rear lowering kit ... My only concern has been that I've already been bottoming out here and there (I'm 5'10" and 215 lbs) So i was leery of dropping the rear - I've been looking into air ride, but that is pricey... aside from that, I'd like to ditch my spoke wheels and go with something solid, 1/4 fairing and if I'm balsy, chop the rear end like you and robbie13....

Your good man no worries.

As for the Burly Slammer kit.. I enjoy it, 6'3 210 no issues bottoming out. But then again I am use to solid struts and only having a spring seat LOL

Have you tried adjusting your shocks so you dont bottom out?

I honestly haven't...I actually am not sure how to do that and haven't gotten to looking it up...how adjustable are they? I'd still like to get the slammer kit, just to have the shocks be blacked out too, to match. I think the gloss black in the *** end should balance well with the gloss of the bars and forks...balance all that denim.

Take the shock apart .. under the bottom cover is a adjustment to stiffin or loosen the shock travel. You can get a shock adjustment tool or use a rag and some channel locks.
