Or buy the "landing pad".
Did you always do everything the way your Mamma told you?

The US was largely originated by people who wouldn't conform to the normal boundaries.

Hardly ever. I just use the right tool for the job. Want to be comfy and have a nice bike? Get a Harley. Wanna ride like a jackwagon at 11 all the time? Get a rocket. Otherwise you just look like a try hard dumb dumb.

The Pilgrims had all the right tools for the job?
Nah, they innovated and learned to make the best of what they had.

I had a 360 Pursang. I'm sure that beast is still on a power wheelie somewhere in Moto-heaven. Clutch not required for wheelies.

My $20k+ Dyna that serves as my only transport; not very often.

Have to agree with this one. I was just out on my track bike doing them with neighbors on our street.

Gotta love when people tell everyone else what they should ride and how they should ride it. I'm not sure why there's an aftermarket if a motorcycle is only intended to be what it rolled off the assembly line as. What if I want a bike that I love the style, sound and comfort of, that can still be ridden the way I like to ride and hang with or embarass most sport bikes in almost any situation? Is it best to own one of every bike and just go home and get a different one depending on the situation? Seems like it could get costly and there would be a lot of people waiting on you to keep going back and forth depending on if you wanted to be comfortable, turn a corner, do a wheelie, race a buddy or stop quick. I mean, what if I was on a trip hundreds of miles from home, nice and comfy on my dyna and decided I wanted to do a wheelie or rail some corners? Do I pay to have the bike shipped home and another sent out? Surely that would get expensive and time-consuming. What if an old lady pulls out in front of me and I need to stop in a hurry? Do I ask her to wait there while I go grab another bike that'll stop in time? Sounds inconvenient. Reminds me of elementary school, "I could totally run faster than you if I had my other shoes on". Run what ya brung and hope you brought enough. I just built mine to do what I want, for around the price of a new dyna, I guess I did it wrong. This must be why Jay Leno has so many cars and bikes, it's genius. Wish I knew all this before I wasted all my time and money.

On topic, the cases where this pad is designed to hit are a lot thinner than the area pictured breaking. I think I'd rather have an issue with the motor mount than drain my oil onto the rear tire after coming down from a wheelie. Either way, if this is an issue and you're dropping it down that hard you simply need to learn how to wheelie. There's no reason to be slamming the front end down.

You took the words out of my mouth

But I am curious to hear from someone who is running one of these myself. Seems like it would help. You got a link?
