HAHA, I ride hard! The only thing is I have the throw under battery/electric bags and it widens the bike to the point its uncomfortable on my legs. The Bare Bones seat really lowers me and so far so good.

Now if I can figure out how to rotate the photo.

Got to the dealer right when they open at 10 AM and completed all the paperwork. Guys in the shop started putting on my Stage 1 parts and the Superbrace. Told it should be all complete later today. If the rain holds off, I should be driving it home later today.

I was looking forward to enjoying the lower insurance rates that come with riding a cruiser over a sportsbike. My 2011 GSXR600 cost me $380-400 a year to insure from State Farm. SF quoted me $460 for my new LR. I thought that was outrageous so I called Geico and got this:

600cc vs 103ci. Don't they look at displacement as well as style? I'm paying around 550 with Geico. But I'm paying heavy Metro NY insurance rates too...

Holy moly! I have Geico with a mirror image of that coverage and I am just over $300/year. I live in one of the top ten U.S. cities with bad drivers, too.

You would think rates in your area would be the highest or some of the very highest in all the land. I live in N. Central IL a bit south of Joliet. I am 49 with no history of accidents that I caused, no ticket issues, no prior DUIs or anything like it. I ride 5000 miles or so a year during about 8 months of riding.

I always heard that cruisers were cheaper to insure than sportbikes. Not really seeing it.

Well I will say that my rates did drop about $300 from that of my 2015 BMW S1000R which I got rid of when I got the LR. So there's that...

Try South Florida rates...with that 100/300 and UM your quote is a bargain. I ended up getting a quote from Progressive and lowering the liability and property damage (how much damage can you do on a Harley?). Plus UM at 100/300? That is 100 per person and 300 total. You aren't planning on hauling twins around are you?!!!

Good to know. And I am not planning on hauling the twins around.

I will be sticking with State Farm.
