I've made a lot of upgrades over the past month, but I think the best bang for the buck upgrade is the rear shocks. I changed to 13.5 Hagon shocks and the ride quality was night and day different. It feels like a totally different bike now for the better.
I encourage you guys that are considering rear shock upgrades to move forward. You don't have to go to 13.5, but the stock shocks felt like riding a hardtail in comparison to these new shocks. They are very reasonable money wise as well. I only paid 230 shipped for these.
Did you do the job yourself? Just curious. Upgrading rear shocks is something I have strongly considered but not yet done. Did you do anything to the forks?

I did do it myself. I do all my own work. I enjoy it and its relaxing to me plus I don't trust anyone else to work on my bike. I don't believe anyone will be as attentive as I am.
It wasn't hard, but being able to get the bike lifted the right height is somewhat challenging.
I haven't touched the forks yet, but I have been researching options. The shocks alone made a HUGE difference. The ride and handling are so much better it's inconceivable to me how MoCo could seriously let bikes out of the showroom with the stock rear suspension.
My next mod is attempting to vinyl wrap the tank in carbon fiber. I've got the supplies ordered and waiting for them. It will probably be next weekend before I start.

That is a point on which no one can dissent. I too cannot believe HD lets their bikes out the factory with the shitty shocks that they use. How much more expensive would it really be to use a better shock?

Took the day off from work today and headed out for a real nice ride. 7200 miles. Going to ride Sat and Sun as well. Been a while since I have three days in a row of good riding weather.
