I had my ignition switch replaced a bit back. Went to start it today and the whole housing is loose and a goose. The spot welds holding the backing plate popped. I recall another having this same issue. Removed the plastic cover, vice gripped the plate to the bracket, drilled 4 5/32" holes and secured it with pop rivets. It isn't going anywhere now!! I swear, this ignition switch-location and durability-are a complete joke.
Agreed. There is no reason not to mount the ignition on the tank.
A couple of pics of my new LR in Wales, where I took it to break it in. It's got 450 miles on the clock now, just a few more and I can open it up fully.
I must say that this bike is a big improvement over the Sportster in terms of suspension and overall comfort. It also corners very well with just a bit of countersteer, and it is pure joy on the great and twisty roads in Wales. The only thing I am not too enthusiastic about is the sound, or rather the lack of it! This will need some attention soon!
Not sure, will report back as soon as I schedule. I think they said somewhere around 4-500?
Having them do the 1k only, after this one I'll do a majority of the servicing myself. Also have a couple possible warranty items I need addressed...
Dude, are you taking it to OC harley? i believe its 500 for the 1K service, but there is nothing special about it, its just a regular service, oil change etc. I would save the money and do it myself. I dont trust the people at oc harley...they lost my keys and fob on a "Test Ride"..
