my reason for it was I was already on 13.5 shocks but both of the shocks I was set on were offered in 13 or 14" variety. After getting used to the one I couldn't go back down. I wanted to upgrade shocks to have even more adjustability hence also doing the front end. The longer travel helps with bumps and bumps in the road too. I do ride aggressive some times but there's multiple benefits to longer shock. Is it overkill, most likely but it sure is fun lol.

And broke down while talking to hardcore cycles and bought a 2 over front end and some rwd shocks in 14" to replace my 13.5 stilettos. Guess my lowrider is becoming a highrider.
Thanks. Sat is suppose to be nice, so I am looking to get another 100 miles in that day. Post some pics when you get done with your LR mods.

Well new pirelli tires mounted and powder sprayed. Gotta admit it works with the green very well. My suspension is supposed to be in tomorrow but I've got some tins getting dropped off this weekend to be painted. And money comes first lol. After all gotta rebuild the 1600 I dropped on the suspension.

I took my bike in for its annual MOT (road-worthiness test) today and a new back tire. It's a 90 minute ride each way. Thankfully, it wasn't icy like yesterday, and the forecast rain didn't come, although the roads were very damp and very dirty - lots farm vehicles and tractors out and about; the bike looked like I'd driven through a farmyard by the time I got home, so it needed the best clean I've ever given it. In spite of all that, it was a glorious day for a ride; and having to kick back because the roads were so slippery actually made the ride all the more enjoyable. This Low Rider continues to delight.

What did you go with as far as shocks go? Thinking 12.5's for me as well. Don't want to have to immediately do a fork upgrade. I need to ride this bike any faster, I need another bike. Definitely keeps me in check. Scraping does suck though.

I replaced battery yesterday. Bike was 9/16 production and I bought it in 4/17 with 120 miles on the clock. 25 months and the battery was probably older than the bike production date wise. Maybe I'll get a bit more life on the next one since I will be on top of the charging more. These batteries are still small for these engines imo.

Anybody use a FP3? I am contemplating one. For what they cost, I don't think I can go wrong. Planning to get a S&S teardrop enclosed air cleaner, and yes because I have been stuck in the rain with this HO Ventilator.

Comments, suggestions welcome

I went with a stock Harley Dyna shock. Found them on Ebay for like $100. The bike had Progressive Suspension 11" shocks when I bought it and I HATED them. Way to stiff a ride and the bike sat to low. In fact it was so low, I had to lean the bike to the right just to put the jiffy stand down!

Even with stock shocks, I have to lean the bike just a little to the right to put down the jiffy stand. Like you, I'm happy with the ride though. I've spent too much on changing shocks on a previous bike, and there have always been gains and losses with each change - it's never been a straightforward improvement although, having spent the money, one always tries to persuade oneself it is! I do a wide variety of riding on my Low Rider, and the stock shocks are perfect for some of that, and plenty good enough for the rest.

Taking bike in to dealer tomorrow for 25K service. Winter has come early in Northern IL. I am at 24,400 miles. Only able to put on 4400 miles since 20K service last October!

I'm not throwing in the towel yet. After 2 days of torrential rain, tomorrow will be sunny and upper 50s, so I'm going to ride to work. I'll be in the dark for a portion of am & pm but no worries. I need a ride.

Got mine up on the lift, tearing down for suspension upgrades. Thankfully Louisiana is fun to ride all years long too depending on how dedicated you are.
