This plugs directly into the battery tender plug which is what you are talking about on the left side of the bike. You're not gonna kill the battery using that with the bike running obviously, but I wouldn't use it with the bike off, I'm not even sure if that connector has power with the bike off.
So that is factory installed battery tender connector? It must be hot all the time then. Previous owner put a connector directly on the battery, guess eh didn't know about this one.
Anyone have experience with getting accessory power off of your bike? I want to run a USB port at the handlebars. Harley has an accessory cord that plugs into the data port. That might get tight if I have my fuelpak plugged into that port. My bike has a capped 2 pin SAE connector under the left panel that looks factory installed. I could go right to the battery, I think the chance of killing the battery with my phone is minimal. Thoughts?
No, the only thing I am running off the battery that did come from the factory is the PV2 tuner I bought from Fuel Moto when I got the bike.
As for the phone, I still have not gotten a smart phone so I cannot speak to running a phone of the battery.

Yeah I forget what year they started that (maybe around 14 for the dyna?) but the bike comes from the factory with the tender connector.
would have to relocate the ignition switch to relocate horn.
I believe in 2016 the ignition switch went away. Mine is a 2017 and there is nothing in that spot. It seems the factory put a jumper in to get the wiring to reach the down tubes, all connectorized so this part will be easy. I ordered parts for a FXDB to relocate the horn to between the jugs. The bracket for the top engine stabilizer has to change, this will be the most difficult part to swap. I am hoping I can swap this bracket and not have to mess with engine alignment.

Its not hard to change the bracket, been awhile back when I deleted my ignition switch but if I remember correctly you can pull the front tank bolt out and prop up the front of the tank with some towels, that will give you enough clearance to get a wrench on those top bolts for the bracket.
