I buddy of mine has a 1993 FXRS Convertible with < 20k miles in pretty decent shape he is thinking about selling/trading for something newer. I've read many threads about how good the FXR's were. What do you thing a fair asking price is.
His looks like this one:
At the end of the day it's worth what somebody is willing to pay , but for a stock unmolested one like that they've been selling anywhere from 5500-7500 in my area

Where are you located? That looks cherry.
A complete Convertible like that, should fetch a nice price w/ some patience, and good visibility on the web.
I would probably offer 6k and see how he reacts. It'll probably need new lifters before too long..
To him it may just be an old Evo Harley. To some, it's a piece of gold...
FXRs fetch a premium on the West Coast....
That'd be a helluva score.....
I'm on FXR #2, and it trumps my Dyna in everything....

The bike belongs to my neighbor, we live in southern Va.. His bike is complete, although it is not the bike in the picture, and is showing its age with some light rust on some of the chrome. My neighbor bought it 3 yrs ago and has maintained it well but hasn't done much with it. It has a stage one but no other mods I'm aware of. He is looking to get something bigger him and his girlfriend can ride together. I tried to talk him into keeping that for solo rides at least. We'll see how that goes.
I used mine for 2up a bit until last year. In fact, if I had a pillion like that available, I probably wouldn't have 2 bikes. I have the Badlander on mine, and my wife HATES it. The Dyna is my 2uo bike(well, it's down, and she is getting cranky)......
Depending on the age it's showing, in SoVa, I would probably go around 5k.
