Fatbob shock help

Ok so a little background. I have a 2013 FLHX that I put an air ride system into it. I put my stock HD air shocks on my wife's 2013fatbob. Well my Air ride rode like crap so I took it out and ordered a set of JRi shocks. They won't be here in time for a quick road trip I'm taking this weekend. Here's my question. I'm going to mount the FatBob shocks on my FLHX until the JRi's show up. Can I mount them upside down so that I can still mount my tour pak in the solo position? Or are the top chrome shock covers easy to remove? With the covers on the top of the shock won't allow the tour pak to mount. I'm not worried about long term. It'll only be a week or so. Just hoping for a quick fix until the JRi's show up. Thanks.
