I could keep the 17" on there, but every time I get tires I kick myself that I didn't go to 16" when I powdercoated my hubs and rims a few years ago. I'm planning on doing all the work over the winter.
I'm using the klock werks fender adapters for an heritage fender. Have to take them to get shaved down 1/8" each so the fender will for. I just used the rust-oleum appliance epoxy paint on my lowers. Will get them powder coats eventually. I have a bobbed rear fender and may love the way it looks when it's done but I have FLH bags I want to put on. I have a modified street glide fender but may just go with the Switchback fender instead.

Sounds great! Right now my plan is to build a softail slim type bike on a dyna chassis, but who knows what I'll come up with in the next 10 months?

Dyna Bagger85: Did you ever build that rear wheel? how did it go? What size spokes did you use?

No I haven't, powder coated messed up the color on all my spokes and now I'm overseas until the beginning of the year. Also decided to go with a 23x3 up front. I've been rethinking a 18" for the rear too. Think it would be a better combination with the larger wheel up front. Would just have to sell the 16" and use that money for the other rim. Already have a set of spokes that would work with an 18" rim.

I don't remember the length. Had to call Buchanan's and give them the inside diameter of the rim and they had spokes already prepackaged to work with my setup.
