Default FatBob Trees Rake

Hi All,

I am intending fitting FatBob trees on my 2011 WideGlide. Is it correct that FatBob trees have negative rake?
As I understand it about -2degrees?

Thanks and regards
Richard

Hi,

Thanks for that, however looking at one in my dealership today the forks between the trees didn't look parallel to the neck hence my question.
There looked to be a gap between neck and tube at top tree and non at the lower one when looking level with and side on at fork tubes through the trees. Also the tube caps were inclined forwards relative to top tree again suggesting negative rake, unlike my WideGlide tube caps which incline backwards giving positive rake. So I guess if tube caps had been parallel with top tree that would be neutral or no rake built in?
I was thinking that the frames are the same and the difference of rake (~4 degrees) was achieved in this way, i.e. +2 in my and -2 in FatBob? Would you know if they utilise the same frame?

Thanks again.
Richard

yes, a very small amount, but still very obvious to see if you're looking for it!
I went to the H-D site and using the 360 feature spun the fatbob, very plain to see. also compared it to the street bob because they both have a 29 degree steering head... the result of using those negative trees on the fatbob is a miniscule amount more trail, less than 1/4" more on the FB compared to the SB... my guess is a very sophisticated geometry program spit this out so that no one dyna feels a lot different than another... too small to be about anything handling related.

my 04 Buell 1200 S has a 21 degree steering head and 3.3" 0f trail, feels like it's rails... although they did take s bit of sharpness out for 05 because of a few lardasses complaining it was twitchy... it isn't!... you just need to be normal size to ride one like Mr Buell intended

Thanks dude yeah totally agree with you.
All i need do now is buy the trees which over here are more in sterling than your dollars ie £320.00 = about $500 so near twice price.

I went to my dealer just to confirm rake suspicions.

Thanks again
Richard
