I just found this site yesterday and it's already been a great help to me. I am a 1st time Harley owner (Dyna Super Glide 05). Just picked up my bike a month ago and have already put on 1000 miles and I'm having a blast. I've already done quite a bit to the bike including a windshield, grips, sissy bar, luggage rack, pad, sissy bar bag, and a fork bag. I went back yesterday and ordered the SE slip on's after reading all the feedback on pipes, I felt these best fit my needs. Couldn't resist and also ordered the rear suspension lowering kit and saddle bags and the chrome battery cover. I just about have the catalog memorized and now I'm working on the part numbers!

What luggage rack and luggage rack bag did you get? Cost?

I got the tappered luggage rack and the mid high sissy bar with the bag that attaches to the back of the sissy bar. It has the bar and shield logo and is ok, but takes up half the space on the luggage rack. You also have to add in for the side plates, and I went for the ridid mount. In hindsight I probably should have gone with the removable ones. I will probably take the bag off once I get the saddle bags and put a chrome medallion on the sissy bar. My dealer gave me a pretty good deal that worked out to about 25% off of list and that worked out to $300.00 bucks. I'll post some picks of it later.

Howdy, congrats on the new SG, it sounds like you are really getting involved in the custom end of it. Enjoy that catalog and enjoy the ride.

I own an 05 Superglide also. It came with the lowered rear suspension. It's great especially if you have short legs.

Enjoy

I'm going in the other direction by taking things off my bike to reduce weight and bulk. I cut my stock seat down and reassembled it, installed 11" shocks, removed the foot pegs, air cleaner cover and relocated my plate. Eventually I will get some high flow heads and higher compression pistons. One day too I will get a Baker 6sp.

ME TOO!!!!!!

NO front fender, NO passenger foot pegs, Progressive 412H/D Shcoks @ 11inches, NO belt guard, Solo seat, forward controls, kuryakyn slim tailight setup and laydown plate , bars pushed up vertical, mufflers, intake, Stage 1 download, Power commander IIIUSB custom tuned on Dyno. Screamin Eagle "gear down kit" and pressure plate. Just need a 21" front wheel setup with "pizza cutter" tire, and paint job!

Currently at 74 HP/74TQ with redline @ 6200 RPM (versus stock 5500RPM!)

All lightened up, she really scoots! If I ever wanted to do more to the engine, I'd go with a Magnacharger, "roots" style supercharger. And of course a re-tune! (and new clutch......[&o])
