I know this has been beaten to death but the wind coming from below my tank is driving me nuts . I've tried a few of the ideas suggested on this forum and I still can't find a comfort zone . I wear a 3/4 helmet and glasses and I can't hardly run over 50 mph because of the buffeting and the blurred vision . I've never had a bike with air flow like this one . Am I expecting to much ? More ideas please .

Have you done a "tank lift".............. I raised mine 3" and this seems to help quite a bit.
I never seemed to notice much wind buffeting until 70+ on real open areas on the interstates, and around 85+ on the mountain byways.
After 100 mph, never seem to notice much of anything, except my feet wanting to lift off the footpegs.
I wear a full face helmet and I cruise 80+ with no windshield. No windshield no buffeting. If your hooked on the look of a skid lid or half helmet try some googles that's what I used to wear before I went to full face. That will fix the blurred vision if your getting buffeting without a windshield I don't know what to tell you, maybe eat more biscuits an gravy, gain some weight and the wind won't push you around so much.
hey i hear alot about these tank lifts.....where do you get them and whats the deal??? are you making them?? i looked at mine and being that my dads a machinest he could do it just need a good pic of one. and is it the hole tank lifting or just the front of it?? please inform me. thanks
If you have a shield and getting the updraft from around the tank, do as suggested and make a salute with your left arm and put it across your chest at 60 mph. This will tell you if you need an AeroVest or not. Look in the right column of this site and find it and look at the video or go to www.jacksflaps.com ---cheers---jack
I got alot of buffeting with the stock bars, It got worrse with drag bars. Then when I went to apes it all went away. Don't know if it's the position the bars put me in but like I say it went away. Maybe some other ape riders can shed some light. Dave...
Alot of riders swear by a set of Lower Windshield Deflectors (Windshield or Not)(ex.- Memphis Shades) and/or Forward Controls or Adjustable Highway Pegs, cause stretching your legs out willcause the ram airflow up your legs to flow in a different place around your body/head and might eliminate it or nearly so enough to tolerate. But again most riders say the Lower Deflectors stop/disrupt most airflow up and around the tank and into your eyes.
