hey i hear alot about these tank lifts.....where do you get them and whats the deal??? are you making them?? i looked at mine and being that my dads a machinest he could do it just need a good pic of one. and is it the hole tank lifting or just the front of it?? please inform me. thanks
The tank lift is great, and seems to have made a difference phor me. I don't ride with a windshield, and only occasionaly with a helmet. I also have 14.5" apes. The lift has cut down on the updraft.
There are a couple of phorum members who make reasonable priced tank lifts. Rudedog made the one I have on my bike. I have a 3.5" lift, but he can make you any size you would like.
Basically it is just 2 straps and another bolt to lift the phront of the tank.
is this your first harley? i'm riding an 06 robert and this is my first harley. the difference between this and a sport bike is huge. i figured it's just the difference in aerodynamics between a sport bike and a harley. i've got a 3 inch tank lift and i can't tell the difference with/without it in regaurds to airflow. i wear regular old spy sunglasses when i ride and my eyes tear up when i'm really pushing it but whatever, it is what it is. i figure that it's just the price you pay for riding the sickest motorcycle on the planet. it's rough but what are you gonna do? enjoy every second of it like me. f*** it. better than being at work.
